Snail Trail

Few things in life will make you feel as happy and carefree as taking to the open road to explore the countryside in your very own VW camper van. So, pack your bags and make a date with one of Snail Trail’s bevy of beauties. From sky blue Betty, to happy-go-lucky Flo, cool black Dot, and primrose yellow Matilda, each of the eleven immaculate VW campers has her own unique character, guaranteed to capture the heart and imagination. Decorated in all manner of floral, stripy and colourful fabrics, the campers are fun without being twee. Retro-print curtains, crocheted blankets and knitted cushion covers give a real home-from-home appeal, and each of the campers is beautifully cared for - pristine and sparkling both inside and out.

Sleeping arrangements are cosy and compact! Some sleep have a slightly larger downstairs sleeping area but have only a very mini fridge, big enough for a pint of milk, box of eggs and some bacon. Others have a slightly smaller sleeping space but have the benefit of a much larger fridge. Every nook and cranny is put to good use, whether for comfort or storage. The roof pops up to transform into a sleeping area, whilst the lower bunks are used for storage and seating during the day. Vans come equipped with cutlery, crockery and basic cooking utensils, fridge and two-ring cooker, but you’re not going to be cooking gourmet feasts every night and the equipment reflects this. It’s more a case of popping a few bangers on the heat, whilst you sit under the awning and enjoy the view.

Two power sockets mean that you can still charge your mobile, Nintendo or laptop if you can’t quite leave the modern world behind. A rack on the back of each camper can hold 2 bicycles, and a small roof rack provides extra storage space.

Each of the vans is less than 3 years old, so the likelihood of breakdown is remote. You are however covered by the AA, and in the unlikely event that your VW can’t be repaired, the owner will drive to you with a replacement so you can continue on your way.

What these girls lack in power steering, ABS and MPG they more than make up for in charm, charisma and an out-and-out sense of fun. It is about so much more than getting from A to B – more like taking an old friend on holiday with you, and you’ll find yourself immediately part of the VW community, exchanging cheery waves and greetings with other VW drivers.
