Lying just a few miles from the beautiful Suffolk coast, Easton Farm Park Cottages offer families a delightful home-from-home experience in a wonderful location.
This family-run enterprise is, by day, an award-winning farm park, and guests staying in the cottages are welcome to take full advantage of all the attractions during opening hours. With pony rides, egg collecting, pedal karts and a lovely adventure playground to name but a few, there are plenty of activities to entertain children of all ages.
One of three cottages on the site, Sanctuary Cottage is situated on the edge of the farm park, a short walk to the main attractions. The other cottages are located centrally. Occupying one half of a Victorian red-brick cottage, Sanctuary Cottage is simply but practically furnished, with everything you need for trouble-free self-catering. A gift of cakes, biscuits, fruit juice and wine on arrival makes for a warm welcome and helps get the holiday off to a flying start.
Sanctuary Cottage is advertised as sleeping 5 and does so with ease in a double, single and twin room, with not a pull-down or camp bed in sight. Clearly designed with children in mind, the cottage has safety gates at top and bottom of the stairs and comes equipped with high-chair and plastic plates and cups.
The well-appointed kitchen has a full-size cooker, washing machine, dishwasher and fridge-freezer and there is ample space for preparing meals. The dining room seats 6 comfortably and there is even a mini table and chairs for smaller members of the party. Overlooking a field, with the farm park beyond, Sanctuary Cottage has its own private, enclosed patio. Facing west, this is a wonderful spot to relax with an evening drink and watch the sun set over the tree tops.
The field is used as the visitor car park during the day, so guests with children need to be aware that there will be vehicles coming and going. There is, however, a lock on the gate into the field to keep little ones safely out of harm’s way. In any case, due to the location of the cottage at the very back of the field, cars are usually travelling dead slow at this point.
Easton Farm Park offers delightful accommodation and warm welcome. What really sets it apart, however, is its location. There’s no waiting for the fun to start as it’s all there on your doorstep. Mornings start with the sound of birdsong, a leisurely breakfast and a walk in the woods before everyone else arrives for their day out. The freedom to roam the park in these early hours, or to explore in the quiet of the evening, once all the visitors have departed makes for a truly magical experience.
Take a couple of pound coins with you for the mechanical digger, Thomas the Tank Engine and barrel car rides; everything else is free. Expect to be there for the whole day. There is a farmers market on the third Saturday of every month.
