Le Cirque Invisible, Southbank Centre
4th - 23rd August 2009
£15-28 Depending on night
Jean-Baptiste Thierrée and Victoria Chaplin (yes, Charlie’s daughter) demonstrate the art of Cirque Nouveau, a mix of magic, acrobatics, make-believe and optical illusion they developed in the ’70s, which went on to influence a huge range of artists, not least Cirque du Soleil. Chaplin and Thierrée’s version is more intimate and oddball than those big blockbuster shows, however, and imaginations run wild in this family-friendly show.
