Great food, chic hotels, unforgettable beaches, mountain walks – life doesn’t need to change when the kids come along. Great Little Adventures is a publishing company formed in 2007, with this philosophy. It is focussed on providing handpicked, high quality reviews of things to do, places to stay and places to eat, when travelling with the family. Today our reviews are focussed on the UK but the company has ambitious plans to provide reviews overseas. All our reviews are written by real Dads, Mums and Grandparents, who want to spend quality time with their families, hassle-free, who have a taste for adventure, relaxation and high standards.
The job
- Write reviews of places to stay, places to eat and things to do with the family. These reviews will be published in a range of media including our website, blog, newsletters, books and press releases
- Develop relationships with Journalists and Media to help us promote Great Little Adventures
- Research places to stay, places to eat and things to do in the area you live. This could include other areas you know well for example where you have a second home in another geographical area
- Develop relationships with key providers of family-based adventures, chic hotels and restaurants (the ones that really do cater well for kids too!)
- Work with a community of like-minded freelance adventurer family writers, sharing best practice and tips.
Key requirements
Dads, Mums or Grandparents, the successful candidates might have a media/marketing/publishing background, but more importantly, they must have integrity and a passion for adventure, quality and high standards.
Other requirements
- Ability to express your ideas in a fun, clear and interesting way
- A love of writing and travel
- Adventurous, creative, curious and knowledgeable
- Technically adept, with access to the internet and a computer

- Three reviews which could include a place to stay, things to do or a place to eat which you and your family have enjoyed. Each review should be between 300 to 350 words long
- List of what you believe to be the top 5 family attractions in your geographical area – and why.
The next stage will involve shortlisted candidates to be invited to conduct a telephone interview.
